Broken Sunday

Every electronic music producer works towards achieving a sound that’s uniquely their own – a destination at which Denver-based Broken Sunday A.K.A. Tucker Wirfel has arrived in style. Even though he’s come to favor the “more educated” sounds of house and techno under his new project, his productions manage to breathe new life into dance music’s more sophisticated side without betraying its celebrated subtleties.

A trained audio engineer who attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Gilbert, Arizona, Wirfel spent his formative years traveling to Denver, Colorado from his hometown of Cheyenne, Wyoming to participate in the city’s vibrant music scene. After honing his skills behind the decks by performing with a live PA setup at numerous other locations throughout the U.S. under the stage name Silo, he spent a two-year gigging hiatus perfecting his studio process as well.

To call it time well spent would be an understatement. Wirfel’s particular brand of four-four dance music incorporates such a sparing hint of the electro house that used to be his mainstay that only those familiar with his former style would recognize it as such. To everyone else, it simply sounds like something they can’t quite put their finger on – but the top-tier sound synthesis and poignant progressions keep them hooked. As he blossoms as an artist, Wirfel is on his way to formulating the sort of instantly identifiable trademark style that icons like deadmau5 and Pretty Lights can boast.

While he put out music as Silo through such record labels as Lot 49 and Velcro City, his first release as Broken Sunday will arrive by way of Census Sound on February 22nd. Among the venues he’s played are Red Rocks amphitheater outside Denver, Club Trinity in Seattle, Club Mist in Scottsdale, Bourbon Theater in Lincoln, and even intimate afterhours events during Miami Music Week. After frequenting the main floor of Denver’s Beta Nightclub, he also promoted an event series in the club’s Beatport Lounge for which he booked the likes of Dylan Rhymes, Meet Katie and Dopamine (all of whom continue to support his tracks).

Considering the amount of attention Wirfel is beginning to garner with the Broken Sunday project, he’s sure to become a hot commodity in the coming months. For booking/press inquiries, contact __________.
