Disclosure: “We’re Going to Be Taking Some Time Out”

02.09.2017

Disclosure have taken it upon themselves to share some unfortunate news. The Surrey, England house and pop duo have practically become synonymous with the mainstream resurgence of more classic styles of house over the past several years, but they’ve revealed that they’re going to take an extended break.

In posts to their social media channels, Disclosure’s Guy and Howard Lawrence shared the news via a photo of a handwritten letter addressing their fans:

Neither brother has mentioned how long they expect the hiatus to last. Seeing as how the letter states that they will only be undertaking Wild Life Festival (whose lineup they curate themselves) and a handful of others that they’re currently not at liberty to disclose, it will not begin until the better part of the 2017 has passed.

Disclosure’s 2013 album Settle played no small part in fitting more underground styles of house and tech house for mainstream ears. Even though their 2015 follow-up, Caracal, didn’t make the same waves as their debut studio effort, it demonstrated the relatively young brothers capable of consistently putting out layered, sophisticated dance music.

With Wild Life Festival taking place on June 8th and 9th, Disclosure fans still have plenty of time to catch a performance by the duo before they take their leave. In the meantime, the brothers are likely to reveal what else they have in the works between now and then as well.
