Eric Prydz Forced to Cancel Depot 52 Performance Due To Venue Closure

03.07.2017

The wake of controversy left by last December’s Ghost Ship fire tragedy has apparently not subsided as of yet. In the weeks following the incident DIY creative spaces were closed down all over the country, and even now a warehouse show headlined by Eric Prydz has been cancelled as the presumed result of such a shutdown.

Prydz had been billed as the headliner for a two-day event at Depot 52 in Brooklyn, NYC. While he had performed on the first evening – which fell on this Friday, the 3rd – he was unable to deliver the remaining four-hour set the following night.

Prydz aired his frustrations on social media by tweeting the following on Sunday:

While fire code violations appear to have been at the root of Depot 52’s closure, the venue’s staff have not issued an official statement at this time. However, ticket holders for the second evening have been issued a full refund.

Eric Prydz returns to the U.S. for a slew of tour dates coinciding with Miami Music Week. Later in the year, he will deliver a highly-anticipated EPIC 5.0 performance at Creamfields in the U.K.
