User Information on Coachella Website Compromised by Hackers

A recent breach of the Coachella website has given the festival’s organizers more to worry about than the usual lineup leak. Hackers have penetrated the site’s security system in an attempt at gaining access to valuable user data.

An email sent to website account holders by Coachella parent company Goldenvoice revealed that “unauthorized third parties illegally gained access to the usernames, first and last names, shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth.” According to the statement, their investigation at least confirmed that no financial information was uncovered by the thieves.

Coachella’s 2017 lineup features the likes of Kendrick LamarRadiohead and Lorde – in addition to such electronic music icons as Martin GarrixDJ Snake and Richie HawtinBeyoncé recently canceled her performance at the gathering, and was replaced by Lady Gaga on the lineup.
