Listen: Eric Prydz Uploads Track Dedicated to Late Fan

12.28.2016

Eric Prydz has uploaded “Lillo” to his SoundCloud account under his Pryda moniker. The Swedish progressive house icon had previously debuted the song during one of his performances at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles which, were dedicated to the recently deceased fan of the song’s namesake.

In a gesture that moved fans from all walks of the electronic music community, Prydz had organized the Sound dates specially for James Lillo and arranged to have him flown out from the East Coast to attend. In a tragic turn of events, however, Lillo succumbed to stage four cancer and passed away in the week that followed.

Prydz went through with the performances regardless, and played a series of IDs later confirmed to have been written in memory of Lillo. As with the others, the track now officially released as “Lillo” exhibits a more somber iteration of the legendary Swede’s layered and intelligent style of progressive house.

Due out officially tomorrow, December 28th, “Lillo” follows a series of songs uploaded to the Eric Prydz SoundCloud account as releases through Pryda  – one of Prydz’ three longstanding artist projects. In other news, it has also been announced that he and deadmau5 will play another collaborative live set at Creamfields 2017 after having debuted the stage show concept at this year’s edition of Tomorrowland Belgium.
